The Army Is Trying To Develop Drones That Charge With Friggen Lasers

Drones are about the most handy technological wonder the world has as its disposal right now, although they have one huge problem. Even the most power efficent drones can only stay airborne for around 30 minutes or so, which makes it hard to use a drone for a prolonged amount of time.

Tech Radar reports that could change with some new tech which would fire lasers at solar panels and charge the device mid-air from distances up to 550 yards away. It's a game-changer idea or a potentially awful one as these lasers could also accidentally melt the drone and create a flaming fireball in the sky.

The whole catching stuff on fire thing probably means this new tech probably won't be available to consumers out of fear of people burning stuff with lasers. Still, it's cool to know we can now potentially charge stuff from long distances!
