Kevin Bacon to play Villain in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS!?
It looks like Kevin Bacon will be joining the cast of Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class! According to Deadline, 20th Century Fox is currently in negotiations with the actor to take on a villainous role in the film. There is no word on what villain he would end up playing though. There are so many villains to choose from who could even begin to guess.
There is one story line I remember where Magneto and Xavier team up to fight a villain called Beyonder, after a group of heroes and villains were abducted by him. Beyonder is a omnipotent alien being. Here's a little descrption of that story line.
Beyonder takes the mutants to a planet he creates called the Battleworld to participate in a personal experiment of his to observe the concept of the battle between good and evil which would be later known as the Secret Wars. The characters are sorted according to their desires, as Magneto was placed with the heroes as his desires were based on a wish to help mutants rather than the more selfish drives of the others. This surprises many of the other heroes, who still believe he is a villain, although they mostly come to accept him as an ally.
I'm just throwing that out there as one out of a hundred possibilities of who Bacon could end up playing. I love that Bacon will probably end up playing the villain in this film! He's a great actor that everyone seems to enjoy watching in film. It will be interesting to see who he ends up playing.
Bacon will join James McAvoy (Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Alice Eve (Emma Frost), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Caleb Landry Jones (Banshee), and Lucas Till (Havoc). It's also rumored that Amber Heard is up for the role of Mystique, and Rosamund Pike to possibly play Moira McTaggert.
Synopsis:
Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.
