Charlize Theron Out Of Eastwood's J.EDGAR May Star In ALIEN Prequel

Charlize Theron will not be starring in Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar. Instead, she may be starring in Ridley Scott's Alien prequel.

According to Vulture, Theron was not as interested in starring in the biopic as her agents at Endeavor led on. She was attached to star as Hoover’s longtime personal secretary Helen Gandy. Now she has the task of apologizing to Eastwood for opting out of the film which technically she was never really interested in.

Her departure has freed and 20th Century Fox is hoping to nab Theron to star in a role the Alien prequel. The big question is will she star in the lead or in the role of Vickers previously thought to be going to Michelle Yeoh. Ridley Scott has been dead set on Noomi Rapace (Swedish version of Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trilogy) starring in the lead as Elizabeth Shaw.

Vulture has stated that insiders close to the project have said that Fox execs are concerned with putting Rapace as the lead in the big budget film. Fox is reportedly currently rewriting the role making it a meater role to attract Theron or someone else of her stature. The  new version of the Alien script is expected to arrive later this week for Theron to make a final decision.

I am happy to know that the Alien prequel is getting off the ground. Theron is a better fit for this type of film. I would rather see Rapace in a role over Yeoh personally. If Theron takes the lead perhaps, Rapace could play the part of Vickers. The movie is shaping up to be better with each bit of breaking news. Michael Fassbender is likely to be signed to star as an Android, I just wonder if there will be any bad ass knife play like in Aliens.

Either way I am happy about Theron's choice whatever the final decision is. What are your thoughts on this news?
