Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann Cast in KNOCKED UP Spin-Off Movie

Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann have signed on to reprise the roles of characters they portrayed in the film Knocked Up in a new original spin-off type movie being written and directed by Judd Apatow.

For those of you who don't remember, Rudd and Mann played Pete and Debbie, a married couple going through some trust issues in Knocked Up. There's no information on if Seth Rogan and Katherine Heigl will have roles in the new spin-off film, and the report doesn't say how big of a role Rudd and Mann will have in the movie either.

Apatow is writing, directing and producing the the untitled comedy, and it will be his first comedy since 2009's Funny People, which kind of fell flat with audiences. Filming is scheduled for this summer in Los Angeles, and is set to be released on June 1st 2012.

I have no idea what to expect from this new comedy. I've enjoyed all of Apatow's films, some more than others, so I hope it ends up being good! It will be fun to see these two characters back up on screen though.

Rudd can next be seen in My Idiot Brother, which is set to premiere at The Sundance Film Festival, and Wanderlust, which Rudd and Apatow are producing with David Wain. Mann also stars in a film premiering at Sundance called Little Birds.
