Joel Schumacher wants Halle Berry to star in THE HIVE

Joel Schumacher talked about his next project The Hive. while doing press for his upcoming invasion thriller Trespass, starring Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidma. The Hive is a thriller about "a female emergency line operator who, in trying to help a young girl, comes up against a killer from her own past."

Halle Berry was rumored to be in line for the lead, and now Schumacher has confirmemd that "the two of them want to do the movie together and the producers like her, but nothing has been signed yet." Filming is scheduled to start next February. He has been contemplating the idea of doing a small movie before this project.

"There's two very small independent movie. That's where the really interesting material is right now, 'cause you can do things that you can't do in a much larger budget movie, much more risky material. And they're tempting."
