Fox wants to Cast Johnny Knoxville as Moe in THE THREE STOOGES

20th Century Fox and the Farrelly Brothers want Johnny Knoxville to play Moe in their modern day adpatation of The Three Stooges. Knoxville is interested, but he's not officially attached yet. In fact, the studio hasn't even started negotiations with the actor yet, but if they want him so badly, I'm sure they will work out a deal with him. This would reunite Knoxville with the Farrelly Brothers for the first time since the Special Olympics comedy The Ringer.

This would be a great role for Knoxville, and I hope he ends up taking it. After seeing those pictures of him decked out as Moe, I thought he would be perfect for the part. Once Moe is officially cast, the Farrelly Brothers will move forward with finalizing the casting for Larry and Curly.

When this film was first gearing up for production, it had Benicio del Toro, Sean Penn, and Jim Carrey taking on the roles of the Stooges. If they cast Knoxville, they will obviously be looking to go in a different direction, targeting a younger MTV generation audience. It will end up sweeping the MTV movie awards.

According to Variety, "the plan is to divide the PG-rated film into three, 27-minute segments driven by physical comedy, something that Knoxville excels at."

This has the potential to be something really fun. I hope they don't screw it up. But casting Knoxville is a move in the right direction. The guy is a real life stooge! What are your thoughts?
