Chris Diamantopoulos the front runner to play Moe in THE THREE STOOGES

Movie The Farrelly Brothers by

Chris Diamantopoulos is looking like the front runner to play the role of Moe in The Three Stooges being directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly. According to Deadline, the choice is being made after the directors met with thousands of actors to play the stern patriarch of the Stooges clan. He joins Will Sasso, who's playing Curly, and Sean Hayes, who signed on recently to play Larry Fine.

The PG-rated slapstick film is said to have a $30 million budget and will be filmed in three 27-minute segments (just like the originals) to make a single story. The story is still developing and we will share more information as it becomes available.

I think it is a great idea to cast a new actor, that way I will be able to see the character of Moe and not a specific actor. What are your thoughts on the casting of an unknown actor?
