Guillermo del Toro Can't Make HELLBOY 3 Due To Lack of Funding

Guillermo del Toro has expressed interest in the past about getting around to making Hellboy 3. I'd love to see it happen, because I've enjoyed the Hellboy movies, but unfortunately he can't seem to find someone to invest in it. He basically says to get the movie made it would have to be the mother of all Kick Starter campaigns. Here's what he had to say about Hellboy 3 when asked about it in a recent interview with Latino-Review.

Well, a couple of weeks ago or months ago, I did make a couple of phone calls to test, to gage the possibility of doing that because it’s a big movie. There’s no takers for a movie of that size. The two movies made their money back and a little bit. They were financially good, but one was fifty and the other one was eighty, eighty five. This is a hundred and forty. So no one wants to do that leap, from the financial side. So unless we find a way to do the mother of all kick starters.

Do you think he could raise $140 million on Kick Starter? Probably not, but he should at least try! Unfortunately it doesn't look like Hellboy 3 will happen at this point. I guess he's not interested in bringing the budget down to try and make it work either. I guess it's time to give up hope on Hellboy 3
