Is There Hope for HELLBOY 3 at Legendary Pictures?

I'm not getting my hopes up about Hellboy 3. I would love for it to happen, but I just don't think it ever will. Guillermo del Toro has made it pretty clear in that that he doesn't even think it will happen because he can't find anyone to finance it. It seems like almost all of the talent involved wants to do it, but it all comes down to the money issue.

In a recent interview with STYD del Toro and Ron Perlman talked about it, and when Perlman brought up the prospect of Hellboy 3, Del Toro said,

I hate giving pieces about it, but last night, we were at dinner and Ron said, 'I would be very happy to do Hellboy again, when are we doing Hellboy 3?'  Thomas [Tull] said, 'I would love to see Hellboy 3.' He didn't say he would love to do it he just said he'd like to see it, but today, I'll ask him."

Thomas Tull runs Legendary Pictures, and Perlman goes on to talk about how Legendary would be a great home for the third and final chapter in the Hellboy franchise.

Not just anybody can make this movie. I loved working for Legendary and I know for Guillermo working on Pacific Rim was one of his greatest experiences.  The reason I loved working for them is because Guillermo was so happy.  I came in six months into the shoot and he seemed as fresh as a daisy, simply because he was working for someone who appreciated and supported his outlandish visions of what he wanted to put on the screen.  My immediate, silent wish was, wouldn't it be great if these guys came in and helped resolve the Hellboy series.

It would be great if this happened. Of course there are some rights issues that would need to be ironed out, but nothing that couldn't be settled with a little money and a few lawyers.

Do you think Legendary Pictures should step in and get Hellboy 3 off the ground?
