A Crime Wave Explodes in Neptune in New Trailer for VERONICA MARS
Hulu has released a new trailer for the upcoming Veronica Mars revival series, and it gives us our best look yet at what we can expect from the story. In this next chapter of the series, Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell) finds herself investigating a mysterious crime wave that involves explosions and murders in her hometown of Neptune, California.
Here’s the synopsis for the series:
Spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town’s lifeblood tourist industry. After Mars Investigations is hired by the family of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into an epic eight-episode mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach.
When previously talking about the revival, Bell warned fans that it’s going to be much darker than they’re used to, which I personally don’t have a problem with. You will actually get a taste of that darkness in this new trailer.
"It's going to be a much darker world. It's going to be a bigger world. It's definitely not going to be what we did on UPN or The CW, so I want to brace fans for that. That it's going to be darker and bigger and more cinematic and definitely a little bit different."
Bell will be joined by returning actors Jason Dohring, Enrico Colantoni, Percy Daggs III, Francis Capra, Max Greenfield, Ken Marino, Daran Norris, David Starzyk, Adam Rose, and Ryan Devlin. Then the new members of the cast include Dawn Lewis, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Patton Oswalt, Clifton Colins Jr., Izabela Vidovic, J.K. Simmons, Tyler Alvare, and Mary McDonell.
Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright wrote the new series, along with Heather V. Regnier, David Walpert, Raymond Obstfeld, and, of course, NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Veronica Mars Season 4 will premiere on July 26th!
