A New Trailer for DETECTIVE PIKACHU Has Dropped and It's Filled with New Footage of Pokemon
Legendary Pictures has released a new trailer for Ryan Reynolds’s upcoming film Detective Pikachu, and it’s filled with all kinds of fun new footage and story details. Some of that footage includes lots of Pokemon characters that fans will be excited to see in action. In addition to Pikachu, we also get to see new shots of Psyduck, Mr. Mime, Bulbasaur, Charizard, Jigglypuff, and more.
I wasn’t completely sold on this movie at first, but after watching this trailer, it looks like it will be filled with some fun and entertainment moments. It’s definitely something that the kids will enjoy! Here’s the synopsis:
The story begins when ace detective Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry’s former Pokémon partner, Detective Pikachu: a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who is a puzzlement even to himself. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to communicate with one another, Tim and Pikachu join forces on a thrilling adventure to unravel the tangled mystery. Chasing clues together through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City—a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world—they encounter a diverse cast of Pokémon characters and uncover a shocking plot that could destroy this peaceful co-existence and threaten the whole Pokémon universe.
While Reynolds voices Pikachu, the film also stars Justice Smith, Suki Waterhouse, Karan Soni, Ken Watanabe, Kathryn Newton, Rob Delaney, and Bill Nighy.
Rob Letterman (Shark Tale, Monsters vs. Alien, Goosebumps) directs from a script he co-wrote with Dan Hernandez, Benji Samit, and Derek Connolly. Detective Pikachu is set to hit theaters on May 10th.
