Alfred Hitchcock's "Uncut" Version of PSYCHO is Being Release For Home Entertainment
There’s another Alfred Hitchcock box set being released in the U.S. soon called The Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collection. I don’t know about you, but I already own a box set containing my favorite Hitchcock films. But this new box set contains something that I’ve never seen before! It includes the original uncut version of the 1960 classic Psycho.
I’ve heard rumors about this uncut version of the film over the years, but now fans can actually watch it for the first time thanks to this new box set! The other films in the set include Rear Window, Vertigo, and The Birds. The information for the set says it contains “hours of bonus features as well as the original uncut version of Psycho for the first time ever.”
According to Amazon, the description for the uncut version of Psycho says, “the extended version of the movie as seen in theaters in 1960 is exactly as intended by Alfred Hitchcock and now available with additional footage for the first time.”
It’s kind of crazy, after all these years, this is the first time that it’s been officially confirmed that this uncut version of the film actually exists. Below you can watch a video that points out some of the scenes and differences that this uncut version entails.
The Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collection will be available on September 8, 2020. The full breakdown of special features and the cover art for the 4K + Blu-ray + Digital release is below.
