Upcoming Dark Teen Comedy Netflix Film STRANGERS Is Inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's STRANGERS ON A TRAIN

Netflix is producing a new film project titled Strangers, a dark teen comedy that is coming from director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Someone Great, Sweet/Vicious). She also will produce the film from a script she co-wrote with Sweet/Vicious collaborator Celeste Ballard.

The movie is inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s classic film Strangers on a Train, and the dark comedy will follow unlikely cohorts “Drew (an alpha, ‘It’ girl) and Eleanor (beta, alt girl) who agree to go after one another’s bullies.” The story features “the scariest protagonists of all: teenage girls.”

With the story involving teenage girls, this movie could be vicious! I’m actually kinda curious about this project, and I hope that it turns out good.

Robinson has a few other projects going at the moment including a TV adaptation of the teen dance classic Center Stage at Sony Pictures Television. She’s also been brought in by Marvel to co-write the screenplay for Thor: Love and Thunder for director Taika Waititi. Then there’s a series titled Obsessed that she’s working on for The CW.
