Better Manage Your Streaming with Dabby

There is a cornucopia of streaming services these days. It can be annoying to have all the apps downloaded and then go through each one until you remember which service has that show or movie you want to watch. Well, there’s a new device that wants to help you with that. During CES 2020, Dabby was revealed. Dabby will be a tablet that connects to a dongle plugged into your TV that allows you to log in to all of your services and it puts everything into one menu.

This sounds very simple to use, exactly like using your phone or tablet with a Chromecast. It also sounds very nice to be able to not switch between apps to find that show. Another bonus is that Dabby is said to keep you up to date about the pricing and status of your subscriptions. This includes how frequently you use each one. You could then use this data to possibly end a subscription you don’t use.

Balaji Krishnan, the founder and CEO of DabKick Inc. told CNET the following:

“In the past two years, subscription services have exploded. It’s not just about premium services. Content is moving to the cloud, and everything is streaming now. Which means the experience of consuming that content has been redesigned.”

There is a big catch with Dabby and that’s the price tag. With Dabby, you’re essentially paying for convenience and the price tag for that convenience is $400. Of course, that gets you a tablet and dongle with that convenience, but chances are you have a phone or tablet you already stream from and a Chromecast is incredibly cheaper, so yes, you’re really paying for the convenience factor. Is it worth it to you?
