BIG LITTLE LIES Gets a Season 2 Order From HBO!
I am so happy to hear that HBO's award-winning show Big Little Lies is coming back for another season! As much as fans wanted another season, we knew the show was first slated as a limited series, as it followed a novel by the talented Liane Moriarty. We figured that once the story in the book was over, the story on screen would have to follow suit. But after the series gained such a huge following, won 8 Emmy's, and was nominated for 6 Golden Globes (which will air on January 7, 2018), the network and those involved couldn't deny what they had.
David E. Kelly, who has other great writing credits under his belt such as Ally McBeal, The Practice and L.A. Law is back as the series writer, and Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon are back as Celeste and Madeline. The other cast members are in talks to come back, and I can't imagine they won't be back. The writing is so fantastic! And it's only 7 episodes. Good for them and their busy schedules, although I'd love a longer season!
Though the first season wrapped up nicely, I know there is so much more story to tell. The characters are so rich and complex. I can't wait to dive back into their world!
I'm also keeping an eye out for The Husband's Secret, also written by Moriarty, which will star Blake Lively, as it is in production now. If it's anything like Big Little Lies, it will have everyone hooked as well. We will let you know as more BLL news becomes available.
