Capcom Reveals New Trailers and More for Two MONSTER HUNTER Games Releasing This Year

Capcom recently treated fans of Monster Hunter in a new digital event. The event provided news for both Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. I’ve included the video for the full event below, but here are some highlights.

If you’re looking for fun in Monster Hunter Rise, you’ll want to watch as we were given a detailed look at the new Rampage quests where you must work with the citizens of Kamura Village to defend against waves of monsters including Apex ones. In addition, it was revealed that each weapon will have Switch Skills that unlock as a hunter progresses through the game. You can swap out these skills with Silkbind or regular attacks to create new combos and strategies to match your playstyle. If you like to play multiplayer, Monster Hunter Rise will also feature dynamic difficulty scaling as players enter and exit a hunt to help make things appropriate. As you complete multiplayer quests, you’ll even be able to like other hunters in your party to increase the likelihood of finding each other again via matchmaking. The new camera feature will allow you to capture your heroic accomplishments to share with friends.

A new trailer was shown at the event which featured the Zinogre and Nargacuga but also included a new threat and the Elder Dragon Chameleos. Monster Hunter Rise will launch on March 26 for the Nintendo Switch, but a second limited-time demo will be available on March 11. This new demo will have a higher difficulty hunt against the Magnamalo as well as the 4 quests from the January demo. Plus, your quest counter will be reset if you played the January demo.

If you’re more interested in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, you’ll be excited to watch the new trailer. The trailer revealed that the Felyne hero Navirou will return and we got a tease about being able to complete cooperative multiplayer quests. This game looks great for people who want more of an RPG within the world of Monster Hunter. Hunters will be able to play Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin on July 9 via Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam). More information will be revealed as we get closer to release.
