CHRONOS: BEFORE THE ASHES Has Your Character Age Every Time They Die

THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games recently announced a new game called Chronos: Before the Ashes. This game is meant to be a prequel to the well-received Remnant: From the Ashes and should be another brutal game for players to enjoy.

The main difference is that when you die, it’s not game over. Instead, your hero is kicked out of the labyrinth which serves as the main setting for the game for one year. Then, you can return and try to conquer the dungeon again. This means that as you die, your character will get older. As your character gets older, the way that they play will change, with younger characters being all about physical feats while older characters being better with magic.

[A] chosen one is sent to a mysterious labyrinth, full of both fearsome and mystic creatures, along with challenging puzzles. Combat is unforgiving and brutal - but in Chronos, death is not the end. Each time the hero fails, he is cast out and must wait one year to return to the labyrinth - you can try again, but one year older. When you start your journey, it's still easy to get stronger and quicker, but the older you get, the more important your wisdom about the arcane powers will become.

Chronos is set to release on December 1 on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
