Crazy Trailer for Crispin Glover's New Film MR. K - "The Hotel Is Shrinking!"
The first trailer has been revealed for the crazy-looking new film Mr. K, which stars Crispin Glover. It’s always interesting to see the projects that Glover attaches himself to, and this one looks pretty bonkers!
In the film, Glover plays a traveling magician who finds himself in a hotel full of unusual guests — with no way out. It’s said that he gives “one of the richest performances in his long and continually surprising career.”
The ordeal for Mr. K's misfortunate protagonist begins “when he checks into a once-stately hotel. The following morning, Mr. K is understandably confused by his inability to find the exit.
“Then again, the magician doesn't have much time to search for it due to the demands imposed on him by the hotel's other inhabitants, a colourful gallery that includes a rather intimidating troupe of musicians, a bustling crew of kitchen workers, and a very classy elderly guest played by the great Fionnula Flanagan.
It’s explained that “though Glover's Mr. K expresses admirable patience and fortitude in the face of many curveballs, he inevitably starts to come undone. Conversely, Schwab grows ever more exacting in her control of the film's unabashedly peculiar tone.
“Evocative of the early hits of Jean-Pierre Jeunet & Marc Caro and the hotel nightmares of Stanley Kubrick & David Lynch, the ingenious visual design is another reason that Mr. K is well worth getting lost in."
The movie comes from director Tallulah and the rest of the cast includes Sunnyi Melles, Fionnula Flanagan, Bjørn Sundquist, Dearbhla Molloy, Barbara Sarafian, Jan Gunnar Røise, Esmée van Kampen, and Sam Louwyck.
The film is opening in the Netherlands in January 2025, but there are no other release dates yet.
