Delightful Trailer for the Vibrant Anime Film THE COLORS WITHIN
GKids has released the official US trailer for the acclaimed Japanese anime film The Colors Within, which comes from filmmaker Naoko Yamada (A Silent Voice and Liz and the Blue Bird).
The movie centers on Totsuko, a high school student with the ability to see the 'colors' of others. “Colors of bliss, excitement, and serenity, plus a color she treasures as her favorite.
“Kimi, a classmate at her school, gives off the most beautiful color of all. Although she doesn’t play an instrument, Totsuko forms a band with Kimi and Rui, a quiet music enthusiast they meet at a used bookstore in a far corner of town.
“As they practice at an old church on a remote island, music brings them together, forming friendships and stirring affections. Will they discover their true 'colors'?”
This looks like a delight an vibrant movie worth checking out, especially for those of you who watch anime. The movie comes from the animation studios Science SARU, and the voice cast includes Takaishi, Sayu Suzukawa, Taisei Kido, and Yui Aragaki.
This film first premiered at the 2024 Annecy Film Festival to rave reviews and, while it’s already open in Japan, it won’t be released in the US until later this year. Enjoy the trailer!
