Disney+ Will Not Be Adding SPIDER-MAN Movies to Its Library

Disney+ is awesome because aside from all the Disney content, which is impressive all on its own, it also boasts the Marvel titles, and that’s super fun to be able to go back and rewatch or show our kids for the first time. We have the Iron Man movies, Captain America, Thor, Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, and more, but one glaring omission is Spider-Man. While some titles just aren’t available quite yet, like Black Panther, the bad news is that the Spider-Man films won’t be making the jump to the streamer at all.

Although Disney-owned Marvel and Sony have made up and are planning on continuing to make the next Spider-Man film together and Spider-Man: Homecoming and Far From Home are included in the Infinity Saga, those films are technically owned by Sony. So they won’t be included in the Disney+ lineup.

This is a bummer, but it is what it is. It will probably really help with the DVD and Blu-ray sales of the films, as fans will want a copy to watch whenever they want. I guess that’s just what we will have to do when we want to watch our favorite web-slinger.

Of course, there’s always a chance Disney will buy the rights back someday… Until then, we have plenty to keep us busy on Disney+. Now excuse me while I go watch The Mandalorian.
