Dueling Trailers for HOUSE OF THE DRAGON Season 2 for the Black and Green Councils

HBO has released two new trailers for Season 2 of its fantasy epic House of the Dragon. One trailer focuses on the Black Council, and the other trailer focuses on the Green Council. These are dueling trailers and each one starts with “All Must Choose.” A new Stark character is also introduced in the new footage.

Cregan Stark is played by Tom Taylo, and he is featured walking along the top of the Wall with Jacaerys Velaryon (Harry Collett).

Speaking with EW, House of the Dragon showrunner and co-creator Ryan Condal talked about the introduction of Cregan Stark, saying: "He's very powerful. Everybody's vying for his army. He's quite a bit younger than Ned Stark was, so it's interesting to see the Young Wolf, the young Stark lord, and how he carries himself in the world, and the burden that's on his shoulders being the Warden of the North. I'm excited for the audience to see and experience that."

The series is based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood series, which is set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen.

When previously talking about what fans can expect from Season 2, director Clare Kilner said: "There are eight wonderful episodes with so much happening in every episode. We have trouble, at times, bringing them down to one hour. (Showrunner) Ryan Condal's decision was to give it a good opening and a good ending, and they're jam-packed with emotional and visually exciting events."

Kilner added: "I'm excited to pick up where we left off. Now we get to fall into the more traditional rhythms of storytelling and Game of Thrones. We've always talked about this particular tale, George [R.R. Martin] has too, of being a Shakespearean or Greek tragedy. This series is very much about a house tearing itself apart from within. Now that all those pieces have been set on the board, I'm really excited to tell the next chapter, to see what happens now that Viserys is gone and no longer keeping a lid on things."

Season 2 of House of the Dragon premieres on HBO and Max on June 16th.
