Great New Trailer for Park Chan-wook's THE SYMPATHIZER Starring Robert Downey Jr.
HBO has released a great new trailer for its upcoming limited series The Sympathizer, which comes from co-showrunners Park Chan-wook and Don McKellar. Park is the filmmaker behind films such as Oldboy, Lady Vengeance, Thirst, and more, and this next project of his looks like it’ll deliver a good time! I like the footage that I’ve seen and I’m looking forward to watching this!
The series stars Robert Downey Jr., who plays four characters in the show and executive produces, as well as Hoa Xuande, Fred Nguyen Khan, Toan Le, Ky Duyen, and Sandra Oh.
Based on Viet Thanh Nguyen’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name, The Sympathizer “is an espionage thriller and cross-culture satire about the struggles of a half-French, half-Vietnamese communist spy during the final days of the Vietnam War and his resulting exile in the United States.”
HBO will premiere The Sympathizer on Max on April 14th, 2024.
