Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Joins the Writing Room for VERONICA MARS Revival
I know we already posted the news that Rob Thomas hired his writing team for the Veronica Mars revival, but had to point out that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is going to be working on the show as a writer because that surprised me!
This will not be Abdul-Jabbar’s first foray into the TV and film world with him first appearing on TV in an episode of Mannix in 1971. His latest role will be in iZombie as Zed. There’s no word on if Abdul-Jabaar will make an appearance in Veronica Mars, but I think he’ll be a help in the writer’s room.
He has previously penned stories for Titan Comics’ Mycroft Holmes in addition to his basketball and acting careers.
Kristen Bell will reprise her role as the title character and her next adventure will revolve around spring breakers who are being murdered in Neptune, “thereby decimating the seaside town’s lifeblood tourist industry. After Mars Investigations is hired by the parents of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into a mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach.”
