Kate McKinnon Set to Play Big Cat Activist Carole Baskin in JOE EXOTIC Series Adaptation

You are probably aware of the Netflix sensation that is the docuseries Tiger King. Everyone is talking about this super crazy show that follows the “big cat-owner community” in the United States, and the crimes committed among them. Before it was a Netflix doc, the story was first told on the Wondery podcast Joe Exotic. In the light of the popularity of the series, that podcast is being adapted into a series for Universal, and they have cast Kate McKinnon in the role of Joe’s enemy, Carole Baskin.

Here’s the synopsis for the story from Variety:

In Joe Exotic, big cat enthusiast Carole Baskin (McKinnon) learns that fellow exotic animal lover, Joe Exotic Schreibvogel is breeding and using his big cats for profit. She sets out to shut down his venture, inciting a quickly escalating rivalry. But Carole has a checkered past of her own, and when the claws come out, Joe will stop at nothing to expose her hypocrisy. The results prove deadly.

I just started the docuseries this week, and it is absolutely bananas. I like McKinnon, and I think she will be able to capture the insanity of these people and their story. Have you been watching Tiger King?
