Ke Huy Quan Recalls Meeting Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher on The Set of INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM
Ke Huy Quan is sharing all kinds of fun stories about his work on past films and has expressed his interest in returning to franchises like Indiana Jones and The Goonies if given the opportunity.
In a recent story shared by the actor, he recalls meeting Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill on the set of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas’ Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Quan played Short Round in the film, and he starred alongside Harrison Ford. The two reunited at D23 last summer, which was a cool experience for Quan.
It’s funny because, at the time of meeting Hamill and Fisher, Quan had no idea who they were! It wasn’t until after when Lucas screened Star Wars for him that it clicked. He shared on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast:
"We shot the majority of the movie in London at Elstree Studios. And one day, two grown-ups came to visit us, and I didn't even know who they were at that time. And it was Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill. And we just spent an entire afternoon together. It was not until after the movie when they showed me – when George Lucas screened Star Wars to me – that I realized that, 'Oh my God, that one afternoon I was having so much fun with Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia!'"
That must’ve been a lot of fun and there’s now doubt that it blew his mind when he found out who exactly he’d been hanging out with.
