Kickass Action-Packed Trailer for Netflix's ALTERED CARBON: RESLEEVED Anime Series
Netflix has shared the first trailer for their upcoming Altered Carbon: Resleeved anime series, and this thing looks awesome! I’m a big fan of the live-action series, but this anime is able to do some badass stuff that the series can’t do and it looks awesome! There’s lots of blood, violence, and wicked-cool action sequences!
Altered Carbon: Resleeved comes from Cowboy Bebop creator Dai Sato, and it’s set in the same universe at the live-action sci-fi series. The story explores new elements of the world’s mythology. “On the planet Latimer, Takeshi Kovacs must protect a tattooist while investigating the death of a yakuza boss alongside a no-nonsense CTAC.”
The series is directed by Jō Nakajima from a script co-written by Sato and Tsukasa Kondo. The new adaptation is a production by Japanese animated studio Anima.
Based on the classic science fiction novels by Richard K. Morgan, Altered Carbon is an intriguing story of murder, love, sex, and betrayal, set more than 300 years in the future. In season one — currently available to stream on Netflix — society has been transformed by new technology: consciousness can be digitized; human bodies are interchangeable; death is no longer permanent. Takeshi Kovacs is the lone surviving soldier in a group of elite interstellar warriors who were defeated in an uprising against the new world order. His mind was imprisoned, “on ice”, for centuries until Laurens Bancroft (James Purefoy), an impossibly wealthy, long-lived man, offers Kovacs the chance to live again. In exchange, Kovacs has to solve a murder… that of Bancroft himself.
The newest sci-fi series will be available for streaming on Netflix on March 19th.
