Let's Talk About POWER RANGERS #11

Everyone’s hands have been revealed, and it’s time to move to the endgame after Power Rangers #11. The Omega Rangers are trying to learn about the Empyreals and how to stop them which leads them to the Yellow Emissary. That’s only the beginning though. We’ll talk about it after the break, but the comic is written by Ryan Parrott with art by Francesco Mortarino, colors by Raúl Angulo with color assistance by Jose Enrique Fernández, and letters by Ed Dukeshire. You can purchase your own copy from your local comic shop, comiXology (affiliate link), or wherever you like to purchase comics.

Will the Omega Rangers be able to enlist the last Emissary to help to defeat the Empyreals? The Omega Rangers attempt to question the enigmatic Yellow Emissary, who may know the secret of the Empyreals' undoing. But even if they can convince the Yellow Emissary to help, it may be too late if Drakkon isn’t on the same page… The fate of the Omega Rangers and the Yellow Emissary hang in the balance as they all fight for their lives!

Picking up after the preview, the Yellow Emissary shows the Rangers some vital information about the Empyreals. They learn that Kiya killed the Blue Emissary and we all learn that the death of the Emissarys is what creates the Empyreals. The Rangers also see that Zartus is behind all of this which is naturally confusing to them as they’ve come to understand Eltarians are protectors thanks to Zordon. The Rangers also learn that to defeat the Empyreals, they’ll have to destroy Zartus (it should be noted that they don’t know who Zartus is, just that he’s an Eltarian) and the Yellow Emissary explains that the Rangers must kill them. It’s not super clear, but it appears that if the Rangers kill the Yellow Emissary, the final Empyreal won’t be resurrected.

Meanwhile, Drakkon’s hand is shown. The Empyreals sent him as a pawn to defeat the Rangers. He ends up getting his Morpher charged and then the two Empyreals head to the party which has Xi wondering what’s going on. Drakkon then goes and fights Xi who unleashes Annihilation mode and it’s a little awkward because Xi unleashes Elimination Mode which I guess is supposed to make him really awesome, but Drakkon clearly outclasses him easily.

The Empyreals show up and the Omega Rangers decide to try protecting the Yellow Emissary, but I think we can all see how well that goes. They struggled to put a dent on one and now they’re facing two. You do the math. The Blue Empyreal ends up literally ripping the Yellow Emissary in half vertically. That’s where it ends.

This issue has been non-stop crazy. I’m glad that we finally got to see what was going on with Drakkon, although I think there may still be a thing or two up his sleeves. I’m not convinced that he’s completely on board with Zartus and the Emissarys, but he seems more like a wild card thrown into the mix. Kind of like the evil White Ranger in Dino Thunder when he first comes into play. Clearly, everything that happened here is going to lead to the Omegas returning to Earth for the Eltarian Invasion. The Yellow Emissary talks about the one path involving the universe surviving involves the Omegas falling and I wonder if that’s going to play into the Ninja or Zeo powers in any way.
