Lucasfilm's STAR WARS: VISIONS: Volume 3 Is Coming to Disney+ in 2025 and Anime Studios Revealed

Disney and Lucasfilm have announced that Star War: Visions Volume 3 is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2025.

The third installment of this awesome Star Wars anthology series will feature nine short films from eight different Japanese anime studios.

The nine anime studios are David Production, Kamikaze Douga, ANIMA, Kinema citrus Co., Polygon Pictures, Production I.G, Project Studio Q, TRIGGER, and WIT Studio.

Among these studios, there are four that have previously worked on Star Wars: Visions films. Kamikaze Douga was behind “The Duel” in Season 1. Production I.G developed “The Ninth Jedi,” Kinema Citrus made “The Twins”, and TRIGGER was behind “The Village Bride”.

David Production is the studio behind the fan-favorite anime JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and is also known for Cells at Work! and Fire Force.

Polygon Pictures has worked on projects such as Knights of Sidonia, Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy, and also contributed to Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Resistance.

WIT Studio has worked on critically acclaimed series like Attack on Titan‘s first three seasons, Spy x Family, and Vinland Saga.

Project Studio Q and ANIMA round out the new studios. Now ANIMA is a Mexico-based studio, but its episode is co-produced by the Japanese company Kamikaze Douga. ANIMA is best known for Legend Quest (Las Leyendas), Netflix’s first animated series developed in Latin America.

As for Project Studio Q, they specialize in 3D animation and have contributed to projects such as Evangelion: 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon A Time.

Disney and Lucasfilm in a statement: “The award-winning anthology of animated short films celebrates the mythology of Star Wars through unique cultural lenses.”

Highlighting the eight different anime studios involved in Star Wars Visions: Volume 3, Disney and Lucasfilm added that this demonstrates the “diversity and creativity of Japanese animation.”

Each of the segments created for this series features a distinct animation style and a unique story set in a version of the Star Wars universe. There’s no doubt that they will continue to push the boundaries of Star Wars storytelling.
