Marvel Reportedly Has Greenlit HAWKEYE Season 2 and It's Said To Be Inspired By THE RAID

A new report has surfaced claiming that Marvel has greenlit Hawkeye Season 2, and some possible plot details have even been shared.

The news comes from anonymous inside scooper @MyTimeToShineH, who says, "Hawkeye has been renewed for a second season.”

They go on to share some details on the story, saying, "Clint's brother, Barney, will play a major role, and the season will be inspired by The Raid, with Kate and Clint stuck in one location."

I love the idea of a Hawkeye story inspired by The Raid, and it’s easy to imagine how awesome, intense, and action-packed that story could be! I hope that this rumor ends up being true, but only time will tell.

Telling this kind of story, set in a single location, is also a way that the studio can keep the budget down. Dredd is another great example of story concept like this.

I assume if this series does happen Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld will return to reprise their role of Clint Barton and Kate Bishop. Renner has made it clear that he would want to return to play Hawkeye again, even after his life-threatening snow plow accident.

Renner previously expressed his enthusiasm for a potential return to the MCU, saying: "I'm always game. I'm gonna be strong enough, that's for sure. I'll be ready. All those guys come to my bedside, and they've been with me all along through this recovery, so... if they want me, they could have me. It would be something."

Steinfeld also previously said that she’s itching to get back in the role of Kate Bishop, saying: "I'm certainly chomping at the bit, it's been a minute. It's always so funny because I feel like a few months can go by and I feel like I've been doing nothing, you know what I mean? 'It's been so long since...'

“And it's been a while since Dickinson ended and since Hawkeye came out. I am so ready to get back at it, I am itching to be on set again with people that do what I do and love what we do. I had such a sense of belonging when I'm on set and a sense of home and I just love it. It has been a while, so I am very much chomping at the bit."

What do you think about this rumored direction that Marvel might take in the second season of Hawkeye?
