Marvel Studios Is Looking to Cast a Character Who Is a Ruler of an Ancient Kingdom and Fans Think It's Sub-Mariner

According to a new report from GWW, Marvel Studios is in the process of casting a character who is described as being a “ruler of an ancient, distant kingdom.” They are also looking to cast a General to star alongside this ruler, and they are leaning towards casting Asian actors to fill the roles.

It’s being speculated that Marvel is looking to cast Namor, the Sub-Mariner. We’ve heard rumors about Namor being introduced into the MCU in Phase 4. A few months ago, Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson teased that the character could show up in the Doctor Strange sequel, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

The character could also be featured in Black Panther 2. In Avengers: Endgame, Okoye mentioned underwater earthquakes off the coast of Wakanda, which could have opened a door for Namor to appear. Or the other film that this character could be a part of is Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Then, of course, there’s always the chance that the role they are casting isn’t Namor at all. It could be a completely different character who is a ruler of an ancient, distant kingdom. You never know what Marvel is planning!

What are your thoughts on this? Could this be Namor? If so, what upcoming MCU film do you think he’ll appear in?
