Nathan Fillion Will Play a Rookie LAPD Officer in an ABC Dramedy Called THE ROOKIE

I'm a huge fan of Nathan Fillion, and like many of you, I've been a fan since he was on Firefly. Now it looks like he found himself another fantastic TV role! He's set to star in a new dramedy series for ABC called The Rookie. This is a perfect project for him that he's going to be great in. This will be his first leading role in a series since Castle was canceled.

The series comes from Castle executive producer and co-showrunner Alexi Hawley, and it was inspired by a true story. Here are the details revealed from Deadline:

Fillion plays John Nolan, the oldest rookie in the LAPD.  At an age where most are at the peak of their career, Nolan cast aside his comfortable, small town life and moved to L.A. to pursue his dream of being a cop.  Now, surrounded by rookies twenty years his junior, Nolan must navigate the dangerous, humorous and unpredictable world of a “young” cop, determined to make his second shot at life count.

As you can see, it's not hard to imagine Fillion in a role like this and I'm looking forward to seeing him take it on. He's just such a fun actor to watch, and this sounds like it could be a solid and fun show. What do you think of Fillion playing an old rookie LAPD officer?
