New DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Promo Spot - "Vigilantes Are NOT Heroes"
Marvel has released another promo spot for Daredevil: Born Again, and it starts out with footage of Matt Murdock in lawyer made before shifting to some action-packed footage of Daredevil in vigilante mode.
Mayor Wilson Fisk is setting out to shed a negative light on street-level superheroes. He makes it clear to the people of New York City that they're not heroes.
In Marvel Television's Daredevil: Born Again, “Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer with heightened abilities is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.”
Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio teased the evolution of Matt and Fisk's dynamic, with Cox saying: "I believe you have to be really careful when and how you bring these two people into the same room because we have to feel like when they meet, it is an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object.
"It has to feel like it could and will explode. The more you bring us together with no consequence, the less that illusion can maintain itself."
He added: "There's actually an episode later on in the season where in an original draft we had a conversation, and I brought this up. I said, 'I worry that if you tell the story that we can have a conversation and walk away from it at this stage, we lose a lot of stakes.’ So they found a really cool way to not have us do that."
D'Onofrio said: "Anything on our show is, nine out of 10 times, leading to something that's even bigger and crazier. For Fisk, this journey is a path to more control..."
Duirng a previous interview, series showrunnerDario Scardapane (The Punisher) talked about the level of violence in the series saying:
“The level of violence is way up there for a Marvel/Disney show. I don’t think there’s anything else even in the ballpark. There’s a moment in this that is just absolutely batshit, and way past anything Netflix ever did.”
Producer Brad Winderbaum previously teased some of the action in the series, saying: “I’ll tell you, some of the most brutal action we’ve ever brought to the screen is coming in Daredevil: Born Again, which isn’t a horror show, but really it packs a lot of power and there’s a lot of visceral action, to say the least.”
He went on to tease how things have changed, saying: "These characters have matured, the universe is different than it was. Things have changed, society's changed. Matt and Wilson have changed.
“And their characters are gonna collide in ways we've never seen before. It's no longer enough to try to murder each other. There's a whole game of politics at play."
The series also sees Elden Henson return as Froggy Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, , Wilson Bethel as Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter, and Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Marianna-Fisk.
The cast also includes Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Jeremy Earl, and more.
Daredevil: Born Again is being developed by directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who worked on both Moon Knight and Loki.
Daredevil: Born Again is set to arrive on Disney+ on March 4th, 2025.
