New "Space" Trailer For THE LEGO MOVIE 2 Shows What Happened After The End of the First Movie
We’ve got a new international trailer to share with you for The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part. It’s called “Space” and after showing us what happened right after the end of the first movie, it launches into Emmet embarking on a journey into space to save Wyldstyle and the rest of his friends, who were abducted by an alien from another world.
On this journey, Emmet runs into a badass character named Rex Dangervest who joins Emmet on his quest, and Emmet also wants Rex to teach him how to be tough. I’ve enjoyed what I’ve seen from this sequel so far and it looks like it’s going to deliver some good laughs and entertainment.
The returning cast also includes Elizabeth Banks as Wyldstyle, Will Arnett as Batman, Channing Tatum as Superman, and Jonah Hill as Green Lantern. Then there's Tiffany Haddish, who will be voicing a new lead character in the movie. The cast also includes Alison Brie as Unikitty and Nick Offerman as Metal Beard.
Here’s the synopsis:
The much-anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed, global box office phenomenon that started it all, “The LEGO® Movie 2: The Second Part,” reunites the heroes of Bricksburg in an all new action-packed adventure to save their beloved city. It’s been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO® invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild.
The battle to defeat them and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman and their friends to faraway, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical. It will test their courage, creativity and Master Building skills, and reveal just how special they really are.
The movie is being directed by Mike Mitchell (Trolls, Shrek Forever After, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water). Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who wrote and directed The LEGO Movie, wrote the first draft of the sequel's script which was then re-written by BoJack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg. In addition, Lord and Miller will serve as producers.
The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part is set for release on February 8, 2019.
