New Trailer For The TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE Prequel Film LEATHERFACE
A new theatrical trailer has been released for the upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massare prequel film Leatherface. The first trailer that was released was a red-band version, this latest one isn't as hardcore, but it still gives you a good idea of what to expect from the movie.
I remember seeing the original film for the first time as a young teenager and it kind of jacked me up. The movie was wickedly disturbing and none of the other films in the franchise managed to bring that raw horror grittiness. Most of the other films were still entertaining, though.
I'm still not sold on this prequel movie. I hope that it's good, though! I'd love to see another good movie in this horror franchise. I wasn't a big fan of that remake that was made back in 2003.
The story four inmates from a mental institute played by Jessica Madsen, Sam Coleman, Sam Strike, and James Bloor, escape from the hospital they were committed to. One of these characters becomes the iconic slasher. These mental patients end up kidnaping a nurse and they are being pursued by a deranged lawman (Stephen Dorff), who is out for revenge.
"In Texas, years before the events of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, in the early days of the infamous Sawyer family, the youngest child is sentenced to a mental hospital after a suspicious incident leaves the sheriffs’ daughter dead. Ten years later, he kidnaps a young nurse and escapes with 3 other inmates. Pursued by authorities including the deranged sheriff out to avenge his daughter’s death, the young Sawyer teen goes on a violent road trip from hell, molding him into the monster known now as Leatherface."
Leatherface was directed by Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo. It will be released in select theaters and on VOD starting October 20th.
