ONCE & FUTURE #2 Gets a Fast Tracked Second Printing and SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN #1 Gets a Fourth Printing
Once & Future has proven to be a very successful comic so far for BOOM! Studios. In fact, the second issue of the comic has already received a fast track order from the publisher. The first printing for Once & Future #2 is September 18 and the second printing is set to be available a week later on September 25 with a variant cover from Jakub Rebelka. Once & Future is written by Kieron Gillen with artist Dan Mora and colorist Tamra Bonvillain rounding out the team. I really enjoyed the first issue, so I cannot wait to see the story continue.
“There’s no turning back now as Bridgette drags Duncan deeper and deeper into the heart of British mythology and folklore to search for a way to stop a rising group of Nationalists from bringing an ancient and terrible power to life. Duncan’s just battled an absolutely impossible creature from legend and been shot—by his Gran, no less!—so he feels he’s due a few explanations, starting with how his nice, perfectly normal Gran knows so much about monsters and how to deal with them?! And what else has his family been hiding from him?”
In addition to Once & Future, Something is Killing the Children, a new horror series from BOOM! Studios has received an order for another printing as well. This will be the fourth printing of Something is Killing the Children #1 and will be available with a variant cover from Lee Garbett on October 2. If you don’t mind some gore, I quite enjoyed the first issue and am curious how the story will develop. Something is Killing the Children is written by James Tynion IV and artist Werther Dell’Edera.
“SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN #1 introduces readers to a close-knit community rocked by a series of murders and the sudden appearance of Erica Slaughter, a mysterious figure who rides into town claiming she can stop the brutal murders turning their lives upside down.
But the local police and authority figures don’t know what to make of this dangerous outsider who claims to believe the local kids and their rumors of monsters in the woods. Can they trust this so-called “monster” hunter with their children’s lives? Or is Erica Slaughter an unhinged killer who’ll only bring more tragedy into their midst?”
