One SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME Star Doesn't Think it's a Big Deal That Spidey Isn't Part of the MCU Anymore
While most Marvel fans have been completely freaking out over Marvel and Sony breaking up the Spider-Man fun, the actor who plays Peter Parker’s friend Ned in the franchise, Jacob Batalon, shrugged it off. When asked about the whole Spider-Man drama on Instgram he responded with, “Really not a big deal.”
Well, it kinda is a big deal. He must be living in some kind of fantasy land where Sony knows how to make good live-action Spider-Man movies.
I guess the fact that Spider-Man no longer being a part of the MCU isn’t going to effect Ned much. He never really ventured outside of the Spider-Man films into the big MCU movies like Peter Parker did.
Regardless, it’s still a big deal because there are so many characters and story elements that effect Spider-Man in huge ways, and the fact that those things can’t be explored anymore sucks and has the potential to make for some big plot holes in future films.
When Tom Holland previously addressed the split, he said:
“It’s not the end of me playing Spider-Man. There’s definitely more to come. We sat down with some of our creatives. We pitched Spider-Man 3, which is going to be something very special, it’s going to be something very different. I’m just so grateful that Marvel changed my life and allowed my dreams to come true and Sony allowing me to continue living my dream.”
It’s good to see he’s so optimistic, but we’ll just have to wait and see how things play out from here.
