Pre-order the YU YU HAKUSHO Steelbook Blu-ray from Funimation Now

Yu Yu Hakusho is a great anime, especially if you love shows involving the supernatural. You can already purchase the series on DVD and Blu-ray, and I’m sure many fans have. However, the Blu-rays are now being brought out with steelbook versions, and they look nice. Or at least the first one does. We only have a look at the first on which is set to release on September 3, but you can head on over to Funimation to pre-order your copy for $37.49. One of the best parts is that you get a digital copy as well as the Blu-ray discs. If you are really wanting special features, you’ll find this one lacking as it only features textless videos for the opening and closing songs as well as “Yu Yu Hakusho: Looking Back at a Legacy.”

The first season of Yu Yu Hakusho featured Yusuke Urameshi dying, being resurrected, training with Genkai, fighting the four Saint Beasts, and even the first round of the Dark Tournament. This is definitely a solid purchase. The steelbook cover even features some art of Yusuke about to fire his signature Spirit Gun, and based on the fact that it appears some dark energy (perhaps from Hiei’s Dragon of the Darkness Flame?) is on the cover, fans are wondering if the four steelbooks will combine into a mural. That would be really cool.
