Retro Trailer For The 1969 Horror Film EYE OF THE CAT
“The most bizaare game of cat and mouse ever played by humans!”
This weeks retro trailer is for the 1969 horror film Eye of the Cat, and this movie looks ridiculous in the best possible way, especially if you’re a cat fan.
The movie was directed by David Lowell Rich and the film follows a scheming young man named Wylie (Michael Sarrazin), who is lured back to his wealthy, ailing aunt’s mansion by his girlfriend Kassia (Gayle Hunnicutt), who has devised a plan to manipulate him into inheriting the fortune.
However, Wylie, who suffers from an intense fear of cats (ailurophobia), soon finds himself trapped in a web of deceit, paranoia, and feline terror when the house’s numerous cats seem to sense his intentions.
As the sinister plot unfolds, the cats become more menacing, leading to a suspenseful climax.
Yeah, the movie is meant to be an intense and serious psycological thriller, and that’s what makes it all the more funny.
