Robert DeNiro Plays Dual Roles in Trailer for the Mobster Movie THE ALTO KNIGHTS
Warner Bros has released the trailer for the upcoming mobster movie The Alto Knights, which is based on a true story. It’s also written by the same writer who worked on Goodfellas, Nicholas Pileggi.
The movie stars Robert DeNiro, who will be taking on dual roles as Vito Genovese and Frank Costello, who are competing Italian-American mob bosses.
This looks like an interesting story and I’m always up for a mobster film that stars De Niro, but it is a little weird seeing him play two completely different characters because you can’t hide the fact that they are both DeNiro.
In the film, "The most dangerous enemy is an old friend. This mobster thriller movie follows two of New York City's most notorious organized crime bosses, Frank Costello (De Niro) and Vito Genovese (De Niro), as they vie for control of the city's streets.
“Once the best of friends, petty jealousies and a series of betrayals place them on a deadly collision course that will reshape the Mafia (and America) forever.”
The Alto Knights is directed by Barry Levinson (The Natural, Young Sherlock Holmes, Tin Men, Good Morning Vietnam, Rain Man, Bugsy, Avalon, Toys, Disclosure, Sleepers, Wag the Dog, Sphere)
The rest of the cast includes Debra Messing, Cosmo Jarvis, Kathrine Narducci, Michael Rispoli, Michael Adler, Ed Amatrudo, Joe Bacino, Anthony J. Gallo, Wallace Langham, Louis Mustillo, Frank Piccirillo, Matt Servitto, and Robert Uricola.
