Robert Downey Jr. Says He Will Never Let Anyone Recreate Him in AI and Will Sue Even After He's Dead
Robert Downey Jr. isn’t a fan of AI and he is making it very clear that he won’t let anyone in Hollywood replicate his likeness ever using AI and intends to sue anyone who tries to create an AI version of himself, even after he is dead.
Downey recently said on an episode of the On With Kara Swisher: "There's two tracks. How do I feel about everything that's going on?
“I feel about it minimally because I have an actual emotional life that's occurring that doesn't have a lot of room for that. I don't envy anyone who has been over-identified with the advent of this new phase of the information age."
When the conversation turned to AI and whether an Iron Man reboot replicating his Tony Stark using AI could ever happen, Downey said:
"I am not worried about them hijacking my character's soul. They would never do that to me, with or without me."
When it comes to the future and any other producers attempting to bring him back with AI, Downey Jr. said: "I would like to here state that I intend to sue all future executives just on spec.”
After pointing out that the actor will be dead, Downey said: "But my law firm will still be very active."
So, we should never expect to see an AI version of Robert Downey Jr. and that’s fine. We don’t really need AI versions of popular actors running around in movies.
