Rosario Dawson Drops Out of NEW MUTANTS and is Replaced By Alice Braga

It appears Rosario Dawson is out and Alice Braga is in for the director Josh Boone's New Mutants film. And that may be for the best, as Rosario is pretty busy with her Marvel Netflix job.

It was earlier reported that Dawson was in talks to play the role of Dr. Cecilia Reyes, but that has now changed due to what is rumored to be "schedule conflicts". Alice Braga is officially on board to take on the role now, which is described as a medical doctor who has the ability to generate a protective bio-field around herself but also has more going on than she lets on.  

I have enjoyed watching Alice Braga in movies like I am Legend and Elysium and think she will be a great addition to what is already a very diverse and interesting cast of New Mutants. She joins a cast that includes Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik, Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane, Charlie Heaton as Cannonball, Blu Hunt as Danielle Moonstar, and Henry Zaga as Sunspot. Warlock is also said to appear, but as CGI.
