SAW X Producers Are Already Talking About Another Sequel and Where To Take The Story
You didn’t think Saw X would be the last Saw film in the horror franchise, did you? Of course, not! You know better, and obviously, the producers are already talking about the next chapter of the franchise.
Producer Oren Koules recently confirmed in an interview with CB that he and producer Mark Burg have also started discussing where the Saw franchise could be headed after this movie. Koules said:
“We’re kind of superstitious. We tend not to get too far ahead of ourselves. The movie’s going to be released in a few days. For us, we do have ideas for the next one, we haven’t put pen to paper. But this is his story, we really wanted it to be John Kramer’s story and tell a John Kramer story. So for the first 30 minutes of the movie, he’s John Kramer, you don’t have any hint of Jigsaw.”
Where do you think the franchise could go after the events of this next movie?
Saw X actually is doing something different and unique with the franchise, which I like. This movie is set between the events of Saw I and II, and it follows “a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. The infamous killer returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through devious, deranged, and ingenious traps.”
The goal for the movie is to deliver a film that “captures everything Saw fans love about the franchise, while also keeping them guessing with all-new traps and a new mystery to solve.”
The movie is being helmed by Kevin Greutert and the cast for Saw X includes Tobin Bell as John Kramer, aka Jigsaw Renata Vaca (Midnight Family), Paulette Hernandez (Crown of Tears), Joshua Okamoto (Control-Z), Octavio Hinojosa (Come Play With Me), Synnøve Macody Lund (Ragnarok), Steven Brand (The Sandman) and Michael Beach (Dahmer).
Franchise director Kevin Greutert, who worked on Saw VI and Saw: The Final Chapter, is helming the project.
Lionsgate will now release Saw X in theaters on September 29, 2023!
