Sinemia is Bringing Physical Debit Cards Back to Help Avoid Fees
Back in May, Sinemia got rid of the physical debit card that customers would use to purchase movie tickets. However, customers have not been happy with the transaction fees that keep occurring as a result of a digital purchase experience. This has led Sinemia to bring back the physical debit card that allows customers to avoid those nasty transaction fees, with a catch.
The first catch that will bother many users is that the card costs a one-time purchase of $15. Something that used to be free is now costing some money and that never goes over well. This charge also means that it will take several movie tickets to start finding the savings. The processing fee is about $1.80 which means that you won’t see any savings until your ninth movie, which could take up to 9 months to see if you have the lowest plan.
The second problem is that in order to not get hit with transaction fees, you have to go buy the ticket at the box office on the day of. That gets rid of one of Sinemia’s advantages which is that it allows you to get tickets in advance.
All in all, there will be people that don’t have a problem with these changes and find the $15 investment worthwhile, but there will definitely be customers who aren’t happy about this. Where do you stand?
