THE FLASH Casts Maribel Verdú to Play Barry Allen's Mother and Billy Crudup Drops Out
Warner Bros. and DC are moving along in the casting process of their upcoming feature film, The Flash. The film is being helmed by It director Andy Muschietti, with a screenplay from Bumblebee and Birds of Prey writer Christina Hodson.
The film stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, aka The Flash, and Barry Allen’s mother has been cast, with Spanish actress Maribel Verdú (Y Tu Mama Tambien, Pan’s Labyrinth). Billy Crudup was cast in the role of Barry’s father, Henry, but has had to drop out due to a scheduling conflict.
No details have been revealed for the story yet, but it is known that the film will involve alternate dimensions and time travel with the hero trying to save his mother from being murdered.
The film is set to shoot this spring and summer in England, and is set to be released in theaters on November 4, 2022.
