Steven Soderbergh’s Ghost Story Horror Movie PRESENCE Gets a Haunting Third Teaser Trailer
NEON has released a third teaser trailer for director Steven Soderbergh’s ghost story horror movie Presence, which tells a haunting story set in a haunted house.
The trailer comes with the captions: “In this house she will feel love. In this house she will feel loss. In this house she will feel fear.”
The story centers around a family that moves into a seemingly peaceful suburban house, only to be gripped by the unnerving certainty that they are not alone.
The movie is filmed entirely from the perspective of an unseen otherworldly presence that lives in the house. We see only what the ghost sees, and it sees something sinister coming for this already dysfunctional family.
Soderbergh is the film’s cinematographer and he is playing the ghost in the film. Actor Chris Sullivan said: “You get into this film and then you realize that it’s Steven running up and down the stairs in martial arts slippers, trying not to make any noise. It’s an incredible dance and feat of camera operation and direction all at once.”
I said in my review of the film, “The film has an eerie atmosphere and Soderbergh's masterful use of a single location creates a sense of claustrophobic dread. The haunting story unfolds with a sense of relentless tension, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats.”
Presence will be released in theaters in January 2025. The movie also stars Lucy Liu, Callina Liang, Eddy Mady, West Mulholland, and Julia Fox.
I’m curious to see what people think of this movie after they watch it. It has an interesting twist to the story.
