Taylor Kitsch Set to Star in Director Neill Blomkamp’s Sci-Fi Thriller INFERNO

Taylor Kitsch (Lone Survivor, John Carter) is set to star in director Neill Blomkamp’s upcoming sci-fi thriller Inferno. Blomkamp is best known for his films such as District 9, Elysium, and Chappie. I actually really like Blomkamp’s filmmaking style, but after District 9, his films have been hit and miss with the fans.

As for his new film Inferno, Kitsch will play a cop who is “called to investigate a seemingly ordinary murder in the New Mexico desert. There he uncovers a deeper conspiracy and begins to suspect that the killer he’s trying to find may be a humanoid beast.”

AGC Studios is producing the project and founder Stuart Ford said in a statement:

“Over the last decade Neill Blomkamp has proven himself to be one of the most innovative creators of science fiction cinema in the world and I’m convinced that ‘Inferno’ is going to break new ground and take Neill’s body of work to even greater heights.”

As someone who enjoys Blomkamp’s film work, I’m looking forward to seeing how Inferno turns out. Even if you don’t like Blomkamp’s films, you gotta give the guy credit for trying to tell different and unique original stories. Although, I do wish he’d get to make his Alien and RoboCop sequels!

Production on Inferno will commence in early 2020.
