The Baby Porgs From STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI Have Been Revealed and They Look Freakin' Weird

There's a lot of great footage that has been released for Star Wars: The Last Jedi in the trailers that have been released. Out of all of that amazing stuff, it seems one thing that the fans are talking about most are those adorable little porg creatures. Some fans love 'em, which other hate 'em. I'm just curious to see how they will actually be utilized in the story.

Now a new Star Wars toy reveals what a newborn porg looks like, and it's pretty freakin' weird. They look like eggs with little faces! They are far from being cute. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy recently teased the Baby porgs in an interview with The Star Wars Show saying.

“It doesn’t get better than…a baby Porg."

After seeing the image below, That's something I just don't agree with. The image below comes from part of a toy line that is on a Japanese website called Natalie.mu. Check them out for yourselves:

See, they're really weird looking! Do any of you find them cute? Maybe they'll look a little more adorable when we see what these baby porgs actually look like in the movie. When talking about the porg's place in the film, director Rian Johnson said:

“I was like, ‘Oh, this is part of the island, we need to find the Star Wars version of this. And then just story-wise—not that they play a big part in the story—but I knew I wanted to find any source of comic relief I could on the island. And so they were very useful in terms of that.
“It wasn’t until we got the actual puppets on set and the whole crew reacted with ‘Oh my god, they’re adorable!,’ and also then a few people in the crew were of giving them that suspicious side-eye of ‘These are cute, but are they too cute?’ But the overwhelming reaction on set was everybody loved the porgs. And I love ’em, so you know what? I get it if people are a little wary of cuteness in the Star Wars universe, but I personally love them, and I think they have their place in the movie.”

We'll find out more about these strange creatures when the film is released on December 15th.
