THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS Villain Giganto Revealed in… a Little Caesar’s Commercial?
Well, this is a first.
Marvel fans just got their first look at The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ surprise villain and it came in the form of a Little Caesar’s ad. While a pizza employee raves about their latest deal, they’re suddenly interrupted by none other than Giganto, an oversized, monstrous creature straight out of early Marvel canon.
Giganto isn’t exactly a household name like Doom or Galactus, but longtime readers will recognize the beast immediately. The monster made his debut all the way back in Fantastic Four #1 in 1961, part of a group of mutated Deviant creations.
He’s most often associated with Mole Man, the first major villain the Fantastic Four ever faced. While Mole Man hasn’t been officially confirmed for the movie, the appearance of Giganto definitely points in that direction, and fans are already speculating that this is Marvel laying the groundwork.
For a promo spot tied to cheap pizza, it’s surprisingly rich in Marvel lore. Giganto towering over a crumbling city while the cashier continues hyping stuffed crust? It's peak MCU marketing weirdness.
“Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm/Human Torch and Ben Grimm/The Thing as they face their most daunting challenge yet.”
Produced by Kevin Feige, with executive producers Louis D’Esposito, Grant Curtis, and Tim Lewis, First Steps is shaping up to be a true throwback to the roots of Marvel storytelling, complete with Deviant monsters and atomic-age design.
The score comes from Michael Giacchino, and fans can expect something big, bold, and maybe definitly strange from this movie.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps opens in theaters on July 25, 2025. The cast include Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who will all return in Avengers: Doomsday, hitting theaters in December 2026.
But for now, the spotlight belongs to Giganto… and apparently, pizza.
