THE LOST BOYS and FLATLINERS Director Joel Schumacher Passes Away at 80 Years Old
Director Joel Schumacher passed away in New York City this morning after a year-long battle with cancer. He was 80 years old.
Schumacher had a distinct and colorful style with the films that he made over the course of his career as a director. He started his career as in the film industry as a costume designer, which led him to eventually directing.
The filmmaker directed films such as St. Elmo’s Fire, The Lost Boys, Flatliners, Dying Young, The Client, A Time To Kill, Batman Forever, Batman and Robin, Falling Down, The Phantom of the Opera, 8mm, Tigerland, The Number 23, Twelve, and the last project he worked on was Netflix’s House of Cards.
Schumacher has made a lot of great films in his career, and The Lost Boys and Flatliners are easily my two favorites. I just watched Flatliners again this past weekend!
Schumacher was a talented director, and he left behind quite legacy of films that audiences continue to enjoy watching. You can watch a few trailers for some of his more popular films below.
