The Release Date of Chris Rock's SAW Movie Has Been Moved Up 5 Months

Chris Rock’s Saw movie hasn’t been shooting for very long, but the production must be moving very smoothly because the release date of the film has been moved up a whole five months!

Saw was originally supposed to be released on October 23rd, 2020, but now it will be released on May 15, 2020. So fans of the franchise or audiences just curious to see what Rock is doing with the franchise will be able to watch it a lot earlier than previously planned.

Rock is set to star in the movie alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Max Minghella, and Marisol Nichols. Rock is said to be taking on the role of a police detective investigating a series of grizzly crimes, and Jackson will portray Rock’s father. Minghella will play William Schenk, Rock’s partner, and Nichols is set to play Capt. Angie Garza, Rock’s boss.

Darren Lynn Bousman, who directed three of the previous Saw films, is back to helm this next chapter of the story, which is being described as “a Saw experience.” It’s also said that the film will “offer fans worldwide a new amped up level of deviously treacherous traps, clever clues and the edge-of-the-seat suspense they expect from the one of the world’s most terrifying horror franchises.”

This is going to be a new spin on the franchise, and I’m curious to see how it turns out. I loved the first Saw movie, but with every sequel that came after, my interest in the franchise faded. There was nothing in those sequels to keep me interested.

But this next film is said to have a new spin, and it’ll be interesting to see what that is and if it can breathe life back into this franchise.
